Residential Claims: Step 5

Meeting the Adjuster

Our claims coordinator will meet with the insurance adjuster and point out all the damages that were found. The claims coordinator will create an itemized breakdown as well. You will be comforted to know that our claims coordinator and your insurance adjuster work from the same guidelines. HAAG Engineering in Carlton, Texas sets the industry standards and criteria for assessing damage. When the insurance adjuster and our claims coordinator are following the same guidelines, it is easier to come to an agreement. Additionally, we have experience working with all insurance companies. Our claims coordinators are trained to understand the language of insurance policies, which allows us to communicate well with the adjuster.

Insurance companies do not set pricing. If they did, the settlement amount would be too low and the contractor could not do the job. Contractors do not set pricing, either. If they did, the charges would be too high and the insurance company would not pay. As a result, there are companies that do research and prepare software on all the different costs of construction. This type of software has become the industry standard for pricing. When an adjuster and our claims coordinator confirm an accurate scope of work, the scope is entered into the software program, which generates complete line-by-line itemized pricing for the project. Set standards and confirmation by both the insurance adjuster and our claims coordinator give the homeowner the peace of mind of knowing that everything is accurate and everyone agrees.
